IN MEMORIAM - June Evelyn Caunce (1927 - 2012)

June worshipped in St Oswald's for over fifty years. When her parents were alive, she went one Sunday to Burnside Parish Church with her father and the next to St Oswald's with her mother; and she also attended special services like Ash Wednesday and Easter Eve. Recently, especially since she has been living in Burnside Abbeyfield, she has come to regard St Oswald's as her church. Her presence will be missed.

She had a career in nursing, culminating in being a Glasgow Corporation "Green Lady"; and her caring nature was appreciated by the neighbours in whom she took an interest.

She was also a keen gardener; but her main interests were in music. Her father was Secretary of the Glasgow Grand Opera Society, for which June designed and made costumes, as well as singing in the chorus. Her mother, who played the clarsach, as well as the harp, was closely associated with the RSAMD, now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. June was a member, with season tickets for the concerts.

She is survived by her two brothers and their families, who live in Canada.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
